Itinerary / Routes for Backpacking South America 2012 - Trip 5

Trip 5 Itinerary (May 2012 - September 2013)

- Starting from Buenos Aires and heading north visiting new places along the way, winding up in Colombia where I lived for the rest of the year.

This is a nice itinerary from Buenos Aires heading slightly north to a few places close to Uruguay then crossing into Uruguay to visit some of the beautiful little towns that sit along the Uruguay River. Heading east towards Montevideo then northward. The most amazing thing about this route is how I got from Uruguay to Paraguay through the night passing through the corner of Brazil and through Argentina! The route northwest from Paraguay was up through the Gran Chaco into Bolivia. From Bolivia I wanted to get to the Peruvian coast and head north passing through some places to get to Ecuador. From Ecuador continuing north stopping at places all the way up to Cali - Colombia. The route from one place to another seems quite obvious a lot of the time!
